OKLAHOMA CITY (June 6, 2017) ─ It’s summer, and that means it’s time for the American Banjo Museum’s second annual family music celebration, Americana Fest!
Scheduled for Saturday, June 24th from 11AM to 5PM in the heart of the Bricktown entertainment district, Americana Fest features great music, kid’s activities and fun for the entire family.

“We’re very excited about this year’s American Fest event,” said Johnny Baier, executive director, American Banjo Museum. “With an amazing musical line-up, fun things for the kids to do, and our new exhibit honoring Oklahoma’s own Roy Clark, Americana Fest 2017 promises to be a great time for all!”

During last year’s inaugural event, the American Banjo Museum saw more than 250 people venture to Bricktown to enjoy a rotating roster of local and regional bands, summertime treats and family fun. And, this year’s event has more of the same in store.

Performers will include Oklahoma Bluegrass band Steelwind, Okie favorites Kyle Dillingham and Horseshoe Road and, all the way from Birmingham, Alabama, The Steel City Jug Slammers!

Among other surprises, outdoor activities will find families enjoying complimentary refreshments, kids arts and crafts and a children’s stage hosted by KFOR-TV personality Lucas Ross. There will also be amazing door prizes - including the grand prize of a Deering Goodtime Banjo.

Tickets for Americana Fest – which include museum admission, shows and refreshments - are just $10 for adults, children 15 and younger are free with a paid adult.

Americana Fest is sponsored by Downtown OKC, The Bricktown Association, Fowler Auto Group, BancFirst and SONIC, America’s Drive-In. This event is also being made possible by a generous grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council.

At the American Banjo Museum, the artistry that goes into crafting highly ornate instruments and the skill and talent that goes into playing them is on full display. The American Banjo Museum brings history and art together in a song hundreds of years in the making.
