Banjology as defined in The B&D Silver Bell Banjo Family books
is "Paragraphs in which are set forth facts, comments and reflections
anent the past, present and future of the Banjo Family."
From the American Banjo Museum archives are four books from The Bacon Banjo Company on Banjology. Published in the 1920s, each contain photos and often short bios of banjo players. It would be impossible to list them all, several featured are Roy Smeck, Stuart C. Goetz, Harvey Marburger, Sammy Carr, Bobby Gillette, Montana, May Singhi Breen, and many others.
This center spread features The Stephan St John Plectrum Orchestra, Schenectady, NY, in 1928. The orchestra was organized in 1924 and held annual concerts under the direction of Stephen St. John and boasted of being the largest plectrum concert by any teacher in the US.
